Nirma was born in Lahore but has lived most of her early life in Kuwait. After completing Bachelors, she returned to Pakistan.
When she return to Pakistan she started off her career with modeling in 1996 after that she acted in television drama. Her first play was Ranjish which gained very good reviews. Her serial Do Chand was also very popular. She was spotted by a director Ejaz Durrani who offered her a role in movies. Her debut film was Bazigar1996 after which she worked in many Urdu and Punjabi movies. Some of her famous movies include 'Laaj', 'Shararat', 'Qarz', 'Behram Daku' etc. She also ventured into Punjabi movies. One of her popular Punjabi movies is 'Babul Da Wera'. Syed Noor, the famous director, speaks very highly of her. She is also widely regarded as one of the best dancers in Pakistan.
