Onika Tanya Maraj (born December 8, 1984), better known by her stage name Nicki Minaj is a rapper and singer-songwriter who was born in Saint James, Trinidad and Tobago, but moved to the Queens borough of New York City as a child and graduated from LaGuardia High School in 2003. She released her first mixtape Playtime Is Over in 2007, which was followed by Sucka Free and Beam Me Up Scotty in 2008 and 2009, respectively. Continuing on her meteoric rise to fame, Nicki Minaj showed up at the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards this evening (February 13). The “Pink Friday” rapper was glad to be part of the festivities as she posed for the press at Los Angeles’ Staples Center with her multi-colored hairdo situated in an upright style. Nicki is one of the night’s presenters, along with Neil Patrick Harris, Miley Cyrus, Kris Kristofferson, Norah Jones, and Selena Gomez. She’s finishing up an uber-successful year, and it looks like Nicki Minaj is poised to begin 2011 with a big bang. The "Young Money" rapper will appear on the cover of the March/April issue of King magazine, and she’s looking mighty fine in the photo spread. Minaj told King she’s in the market for a man, and she has a specific type of guy that she’s looking for. "I look for someone who is calm, someone who is strong enough to not have to win every argument, someone who allows a woman to be her crazy self and someone with a conscience not to feel less of a man. You know, someone who is able to honor his woman but also bring out the freak in his woman... just being super aggressive when the time is right."
