The talented Russian girl beat her close friend and former world no.1 Maria Sharapova in the opening round of the Australian Open 2010. She also made her Quarter Finals appearance at the Australian Open Grandslam Tennis tournament. In Roland Garros, she defeated the former champion Svetlana Kuznetsova in the third round.
